Porto Branco Leve Seco is a rare white Port that blends four vintages into a singular expression of refinement and freshness. Produced by Nicolau de Almeida at Quinta do Monte Xisto in the Douro Superior, it reflects a more ancestral and lighter style of Port wine, with lower alcohol (16.5%) and minimal residual sugar.
Grapes are hand-harvested from a north-facing plot at the top of the estate and vinified in cement vats with skin contact over three days. After gentle pressing, fermentation continues before fortification with aguardente. The wine is then aged in cement tanks at the winery's coastal warehouse in Vila Nova de Gaia, where ideal temperature and humidity help preserve its elegance and purity.
On the nose, it balances youthful citrus and green apple with mature notes of dried fig and plum. Subtle hints of black tea, oriental spices, and chestnut round out the aromatic complexity. The palate is smooth and textural with bright acidity, restrained sweetness, and a long, gentle finish. A light yet deeply layered white Port with refreshing versatility.
