Tinto is Vizinho Vinhateiro’s pure expression of Touriga Nacional, crafted using classical whole-cluster maceration over two weeks. The approach emphasizes structure, energy, and finesse, drawing out the full potential of this iconic Dão variety while staying true to the estate’s low-intervention philosophy.
Fermented with native yeasts and aged in French oak barrels—25% of them new—the wine balances traditional character with precision. Moderate alcohol (12.5%) and restrained extraction give it a refined, elegant texture, supported by ripe, supple tannins and vibrant natural acidity.
The nose is aromatic and complex, layered with blackcurrant, pepper, and dark cherry. On the palate, it’s poised and persistent, combining depth with freshness and a mineral edge. Tinto is a focused and age-worthy wine that captures the purity and elegance of Dão’s terroir.
