Quinta de Saes Tobias Tinto is a low-intervention red wine from the Dão region, crafted from 35-year-old vines planted at 500 meters altitude in granitic soils with clay veins. This high-altitude, mineral-rich terroir, combined with a gentle, traditional winemaking process, gives the wine its elegance, freshness, and depth.
The wine is made with a classic Dão blend of Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Tinta Roriz, and Jaen. It is fermented with indigenous yeasts and undergoes spontaneous fermentation without additives. Skin contact and post-fermentation maceration are used to gently extract color, texture, and structure, preserving the grape's natural character.
Bright ruby in color, it opens with a fine and complex nose of wild berries, subtle spice, and a distinct mineral edge. The palate is fresh and vibrant, with silky tannins, medium concentration, and pure red fruit flavors. Balanced and persistent on the finish, this is a refined yet honest wine that reflects both place and philosophy.
