Quinta de Saes Branco is a fresh and expressive white wine from the Dão region, crafted by the renowned wine maker Alvaro Crasto of Quinta da Pellada. Sourced from vineyards aged 15 to 25 years and rooted in granitic soils with clay and sandy veins, this wine captures the delicate balance between texture, minerality, and freshness that defines the best whites of the region.
A blend of Encruzado, Cercial, Bical, and Malvasia Fina, it undergoes a slow, temperature-controlled fermentation in small stainless steel tanks, following a few hours of skin contact on the day of harvest. The wine is then aged on fine lees for two months with regular bâtonnage, enhancing volume while preserving its natural acidity and mineral backbone.
The nose offers delicate citrus and white fruit aromas, complemented by hints of wet stone and fresh herbs. On the palate, it is soft and elegant, with well-integrated fruit and acidity. A long, clean finish rounds out this graceful white, full of Dão character and finesse.
