Baías e Enseadas Escolha Pessoal Arinto is a true expression of the Colares region, just west of Lisbon, where vineyards flourish near the Atlantic Ocean on distinctive clay-limestone soils, locally known as chão rijo. The cool maritime climate and unique terroir shape a wine with remarkable freshness, minerality, and a characteristic saline edge.
Hand-harvested and transported in 15 kg boxes, the Arinto grapes are pressed as whole clusters. Fermentation begins in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures between 16º and 18ºC, then completes in 225L used French oak barrels. The wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation and matures for six months on fine lees with weekly bâtonnage, building structure, texture, and complexity.
On the nose, it opens with vibrant citrus, lime peel, and nectarine, underpinned by hints of wet stone, melted butter, and delicate spice. The palate is focused and complex, with balanced acidity and a long, saline finish. Just 600 bottles were produced — a gastronomic white wine for those who appreciate precision, place, and personality.
