Arinto comes from vineyards influenced by both the Atlantic breeze and a mosaic of soils—clay-limestone from the Colares region (chão rijo) and schist from Torres Vedras. The result is a wine that combines coastal freshness with textural depth. Harvested by hand, the grapes are brought in small 15kg crates to preserve quality.
Fermentation begins with whole clusters in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks (16–18°C) before finishing in used 225L French oak barrels. The wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation and matures on the lees for six months, with weekly bâtonnage to build texture and complexity. This thoughtful vinification brings out Arinto’s layered personality—somewhere between the brightness of Riesling and the richness of a Wachau Smaragd.
In the glass, it shows a pale straw color and aromas of citrus peel, fresh lemon, nectarine, and crushed stone. The palate is saline, mineral, and lively, with a firm but balanced acidity and a long, flinty finish. It's a full-bodied, age-worthy white that reflects both its grape and its Atlantic terroir with precision and elegance.
